SIMFONIK originated from research for Within Touching Distance, a multi-award-winning artwork that synchronises immersive technology with human touch to reveal the real-life journey of a patient.
The project earned major recognition, including the Inclusive Innovation Award (Innovate UK), and was presented at the Prime Minister’s Council for Science and Technology as a leading example of how arts and XR innovation can transform healthcare.
Leveraging our work on this project and our specialist immersive storytelling skills, we continued our research and development with healthcare professionals and patients to create SIMFONIK.
Different from conventional simulation tools, SIMFONIK combines mindset change with deep learning to tackle one of healthcare’s most critical challenges: building empathy skills.
Our immersive audio simulations are co-created with patients, healthcare professionals, researchers, and simulation partners across the UK, ensuring every scenario captures the realities of clinical practice and the lived experience of patients.
From the UK to Brazil, India, and beyond, SIMFONIK is shaping a new global standard for empathy in healthcare training.
